Pact Analysis

People:

the target group is students, age range between 16 -24
The target group for the app is students, the fact that the target group is students we know they well have confidence using the app as the use of smart phones, and other technologies are often linked to the target group. this putting them closer to the expert users section. However older students may have a problem with the use of the app.

 Activities:

The app is one that would be used for a short period time, this being an app for college, the app must have a fairly fast response time  as there is maps and timetables stored on the app  that may be needed to be accessed quickly. There isn't mush of a data input as there is a search bar for  courses on there visitors pages and a log in and again search bar on the student pages. There isn't much of a  safety issue  as the only people logging on to the app is the students and again personal information isn't stored other than the emails of the lecturers and other useful contacts.

 Context:

This app is going to be used by students so this means it would be used outside or inside for example  outside the bus station where there is a WiFi connectivity or on  out and about where WiFi connectivity may be lacking this meaning that the phone would have to rely on the data package as in the mobile network,  so speeds will vary, it may also lead to the app crashing. If the app is used inside we can assume there is some way to connect to WiFi so there shouldn't be to much problems in that area.
The app will be designed to use on different sized screens small, medium, large so visibility of the app shouldn't be to much of a problem, will just have to look at  typography and how they perform on different screen sizes to make sure that it is visible on all screens.

Technology:

The app would be kept up to date as  it is a college app, what would be updated would be; on the student page deadlines, units work, contacts if contacts change and the discounts, whereas on the visitors page it would be contacts, course and any relevant news of the college needed. Battery life will depend on the phone it's self, the app is designed as a hybrid so uses both storing on the app and use of the web tab. this may cause battery to be used up  pretty quickly but not as quick as if it was all on the webpage, the app  should be reliable as long as the external links do not have any issues, the external links may cause a problem to the apps reliability. It should be fast and easy top find things with a good clear layout.
