Assesment task 3 part 2
Pact:
"Pact is the UK trade association that represents and promotes the commercial interests of independent feature film, television, animation and interactive media companies."Pact is based in Cleveland Street London.[1]
"Pact has a strong track record of success in defending independent producers’ rights. Several years ago, by campaigning on our members’ behalf, we successfully made the case to government that producers should own their own Intellectual Property (IP). The changes this ushered in, under the Communications Act 2003, have had a profound impact on our sector to this day."[2]

Animation UK:
"Animation UK was formed in 2010 to represent he UK's animation industry. It's members include British animation companies and businesses working closely with them, ranging from the largest players in the industry to small specialists.
Animation UK campaigns for fairer trading for UK animation producers, to help to protect or increase the ownership of IP that is of such value to the UK Economy. It aims to work with the Government to get the best possible trading conditions for UK producers faced with increasingly subsidized competition from overseas." [3]
Animation and Risk:
"The production of animation involves a substantial risk, not only because it is an inherently uncertain create process, but because of the cost of are payable when incurred, while revenues from programming received at a later date (and depend in party on the ultimate success of the programming)As noted upside, derives largely from ancillary revenues, which depend on the popularity of the program.
Optimists suggest that even successful UK originated programs may not be cash positive for seven years, though five years might be more typical."
In summary of this quote the money made on animation depends on the popularity of the program for it to continue and grow. it is thought that some programs are not cash positive for 5 or 7 years. Other reason why Animation UK and Pact are needed is for problems with copy right like my previous example of the youtuber TomSka how his audio and style of animation is used. TomSka being a youtuber would not have the money to to take on others that use the audio and style, this is where Pact and animation UK come in to help the creator to get credited for their work, which brings us to another reason these are needed, if credit is not given to work for example if the BBC did not give credit to the work of an animator the animator can then go to these groups and gain help.

What is Creative Commons Licenses:
"Creative Commons helps you share your knowledge and creativity with the world.Creative Commons develops, supports, and stewards legal and technicalinfrastructure that maximizes digital creativity, sharing, and
innovation."
License type:
Attribution-NoDerivs
CC BY-ND
CC BY-ND
This license allows for redistribution, commercial and non-commercial, as long as it is passed along unchanged and in whole, with credit to you.
This License would be good for Youtubers to use as it doesn't allow for the videos to be changed in any way and credit goes to them, another license good for youtubers would be;
Attribution
CC BY
CC BY
This license lets others distribute, remix, tweak, and build upon your work, even commercially, as long as they credit you for the original creation. This is the most accommodating of licenses offered. Recommended for maximum dissemination and use of licensed materials.
This license would be good for youtubers who are laid back about the work they produce and are happy for fans to remix and tweek work, for example Youtuber PewDiePie allows fans to use sound clips he has choosen to let them remix into music here is a link to one of the youtube music videos:
this youtuber has also allowed a sound clip fro an animator to create this:

Health and Safety:
"Most computer health and safety concerns involve bad ergonomics. Problems like repetitive strain injury (RSI), aches, pains and numbness can be caused by
poor-quality keyboards and mice or badly adjusted chairs."
- Looking at computer monitors and displays for a long length of time can cause eye strain
- Appropriate computer equipment should be provided, for example if an employee is working on a laptop for a long period of time a keyboard and a mouse should be provided to make their work more comfortable.
- Have chairs and screens/monitors adjusted correctly to help prevent the risk of pain and numbness.
- Sitting in the chair properly will prevent back problems as long as a suitable chair with a backrest is provided.
- Have computer equipment keep up to a good standard and have it checked for trailing cables and such things that may cause a trip hazard.
- Do not eat or drink by the computer as liquids can damage a computer and cause a health and safety risk.
